Learning at Ladygrove

At Ladygrove Primary, we believe it is important to teach children how to become 'good' learners. Our approach to this is based on the 4Rs of:
  • Resilience
  • Resourcefulness
  • Reflectiveness
  • Reciprocity

We introduce children to these qualities of learning from Reception to Year 6. In the Early Years and Key Stage 1, we introduce these to the children through the characters of;

  • Tough Tortoise (resilience)
  • Resourceful Squirrel (resourcefulness)
  • Wise Owl (reflectiveness)
  • Team Ant (reciprocity)

We work hard to make sure that the characteristics of learning are displayed within all classrooms and in shared areas in school. We actively teach children the elements of these characteristics and use them as a focus for whole school assemblies.
